The project consisted in transforming an old industrial building into a multi-functional commercial space housing Ricardo Media’s new headquarters and the highly anticipated Espace Ricardo, including a coffee bar, a chocolate factory and a shop where books, magazines and accessories dedicated to the pleasures of the table can be found.
To house their new headquarters, the owners have chosen an old 40,000 sq.ft. printing warehouse with an exceptional industrial look. This space was transformed to create a multi-functional commercial space including a Ricardo creative center and four kitchens. The challenge was to redefine the space structure to reflect the company’s vision. The interior finishing was removed till rough concrete floors and ceilings, the original brick walls were punctuated with multiple openings to allow natural light to flood the space. The team wanted to take advantage of modern, high-end lighting with clean lines that contrasted with the industrial structure.
